Two big gold medals (for Cabernet Sauvignon Festigia 2018 and Castello Festigia 2020 and the title of the best wine from Croatia according to the journalist's opinion for Merlot Festigia 2018) are the new big awards with which the Italians from the competition "Emozioni dal Mondo: Merlot e Cabernet Insieme ", brought back the top quality Festigia wines from the Istrian Agrolaguna. In addition, along with the Great Gold medal, Cabernet Sauvignon Festigia is also the wine with the highest number of points in the evaluation.
"It is a great honor at such a prestigious competition, whose focus is on the black varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and their blends, to win the highest number of points in the world competition and the award for the best red wine from Croatia. We are extremely proud of every award we have received. They are one of the indicators of the continuity of the quality of our wines", said Josip Barišić, director of winemaking and production of Agrolaguna.
During the three days of the competition, from October 13 to 15, 219 samples from 21 countries were tasted in the beautiful Lombardy city of Bergamo. "Emozioni dal Mondo: Merlot e Cabernet Insieme" has been one of the most prestigious European enological competitions for eighteen years and is the only one in the world with a focus on merlot and cabernet varieties and their blends, and is held under the auspices of the prestigious international organization OIV - International Organization of Vine and Wine.
